This coming Saturday, May 8th, is Town Clean Up Day in Wolfeboro, an occasion for families, friends, groups, and individuals to contribute to the beautification of “America’s Oldest Summer Resort.” The community roadside litter clean-up event is organized in partnership between Maker Mill and the Town of Wolfeboro.
Registration will be at Makers Mill, 23 Bay St, Wolfeboro between 8:30am and 11:00am on Saturday where refreshments will be available, and participants can pick up trash bags and gloves, and sign up to clean a particular street or area. Registration is important as it helps the crew at the Wolfeboro Solid Waste and Recycling Facility know where to collect the filled bags. Filled bags can be left set back safely by the roadside for collection on Monday for sorting, recycling, and disposing. Bags are also available from the Wolfeboro Solid Waste Facility on Beach Pond Rd.
Participants are advised to wear appropriate protective clothing and closed-toe shoes, bright colors or safety vests, masks, and gloves, and bring a water bottle. Keep your distance from others, carry hand sanitizer, and tick repellent is recommended. Drivers are asked to pay particular attention and keep an eye out for people gathering trash at the side of the roads on this day.
