Looking for a colorful way to spend your Sunday morning? Come hang out with us at Makers Mill on August 10 for not one, but two painting classes with local artist and instructor Martina Cyr. Whether you’re brand new to painting or just want to loosen up and play, these workshops are the perfect excuse to get creative.
9:00–10:30 AM: Alcohol Inks – The Easy-Going Cousin of Watercolors
Curious about alcohol inks? Think watercolor, but more laid-back. This vibrant, flowing medium is full of happy accidents and gorgeous effects, and it’s surprisingly forgiving—you can move and rework it again and again. In this hands-on class, you’ll learn tips and tricks while creating on both paper and ceramic tile. You’ll leave with your own finished pieces, new skills, and some extra materials to keep the fun going at home.

11:00 AM–12:30 PM: Intro to Watercolors
Dip your brush into the world of watercolor! This class covers the basics (and then some): liquid watercolors, pans, pencils, crayons, and brush pens. You’ll experiment with washes, textures, and details in a relaxed, no-pressure setting. Perfect for beginners or anyone who wants to sharpen their skills and leave inspired.
