Our General Scholarship Fund is a great place to help increased access to Makers Mill.
Scholarships are a great way to help us achieve our goal of making Makers Mill accessible to everyone and achieving our goals around equity.
- This fund is dispersed at the discretion of our Board of Directors to wherever the impact can be greatest, and to fill in gaps or supplement the existing Sponsor a Maker funds.
- You can contribute a gift of any amount to our General Scholarship Fund and your name will be listed among the donors on our website.
- These funds may not be restricted for any purposes other than those described above.
Feel free to contact us if you have any questions or would like to contribute in a way that does not quite fit into the options below, and we will work together to find a solution.
Interested in naming a fund?
Any individual, group, or business can Sponsor a Maker for a year for $2,000. This covers the maker’s annual membership of $700, plus $1,000 toward required fee-based classes to use certain tools in the makerspace, and $300 for consumables they will need to work on their projects.
You can be as restricted or flexible with the parameters of this scholarship as you wish. For example, you can restrict it based on a demographic, such as veteran status, BIPOC, a person living with autism, youth between the ages of 18-24 yrs of age, formerly incarcerated individual, etc. Or you could also restrict it based on a vocation or theme, for example for a person pursuing a career in woodworking, robotics, electrical and mechanical systems, etc.
Name your fund! This fund will be listed on our Scholarship & Sponsorship page, along with a short description and your logo if applicable.
Note: If no one matches your restrictions and/or applies for the fund within a year since the fund is established, the monies will go into our General Scholarship Fund, which you can read about below. This is important for bookkeeping and reporting purposes.
