Why a scholarship?
We fundamentally believe that everyone has gifts to share with the world. Our mission is to help people discover and cultivate those gifts. As such, we are honored to offer scholarships that help offset the cost of membership and classes at Makers Mill. If you are interested in utilizing Makers Mill to achieve any personal or professional goals but are experiencing financial hardships or barriers, please consider filling out our General Scholarship Application today.
What assistance does the scholarship provide?
Our General Scholarship Program entitles awardees to 3 months of Shop Member-level membership and $200 credit to be used toward any classes offered by Makers Mill. Applications are awarded based on financial need, anticipated project engagement, and mission impact. Awardees that exhibit an excellent level of engagement may apply to extend their scholarship beyond the initial 3-month period.
How do I apply?
The application form is short and sweet. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis for as long as funds allow. If the application link is on our website, then there are funds available. Applicants will be notified of the award status within 2 weeks of the application submission.
Plan ahead by coming to a Member Orientation
If you are considering applying for our scholarship, we encourage you to first attend a Shop Member Orientation. These free, public events occur twice monthly and are listed on our Events Page. While this is not a pre-requisite for filling out the application, it is a pre-requisite to activating a Shop Membership, so you might as well get it out of the way! Feel free to contact Josh or Carol at the office if you have any questions about the Makers Mill scholarship program.
How can I contribute to the Scholarship Fund?
We’re so glad you asked! Contributing to a Makers Mill scholarship fund is an impactful way to make the makerspace more accessible to the community. We’ve outlined a few different options on our Scholarship page. To make it easy, just give us a call at 603-569-1500 or email info@makersmill.org to share your intentions in funding a scholarship and we’ll work together to meet our shared goals. A special thanks to Cate Poole for kicking off this scholarship fund with through her birthday fundraiser, raising over $1,000 from many of her friends to get us started!
