Do you love beautiful stones? Are you drawn to their colors, textures, and energy? Then get ready for something brand new and totally unique—the first-ever Rock Lovers Open Studio at Makers Mill on March 6th, 11am-1pm!
This free monthly event is held on the first Thursday of every month, providing a welcoming space for gemstone enthusiasts, jewelry makers, and anyone fascinated by the natural beauty of stones. Deb Ryan, metalsmith instructor at Makers Mill, is launching this exciting event to bring together like-minded rock lovers to create, connect, and share.
Why You’ll Love This Event
“Stones are a gift of nature, each one geologically formed in a unique fashion throughout time,” says Deb. “People often feel that certain stones ‘speak to them’—they can ground us and connect us to the earth.”
At the Rock Lovers Open Studio, you can:
✨ Work on your stone-setting project in a welcoming, collaborative space.
✨ Learn about gemstones and get expert advice from experienced jewelers.
✨ Explore Deb’s personal stone collection or bring your own.
✨ Collaborate, share ideas, and swap techniques with fellow rock lovers and makers.
✨ Purchase materials on-site, including stones, bezel wire, and sheet metal.
This open studio is facilitated by one of our Metalsmithing & Jewelry Circle Members and is a perfect opportunity to experiment, learn, and connect with others who share your passion.
