Makers Mill Is Making Plans — And You’re Invited!

It’s been six years since Makers Mill (then still widely recognized as G.A.L.A.) set out with a bold vision: transform a newly acquired, underutilized building at 23 Bay Street in Wolfeboro into a vibrant makerspace and vocational hub. With community support, grit, and generous funding, that dream became a reality.

Building purchased and renovated.
Doors opened to the public.
A growing hub for creativity, skill-sharing, and collaboration.

Now it’s time to ask: What’s next?

A Look Back — and a Bold Look Ahead

Back in 2019, community members donned hard hats for building tours and gathered at town halls, libraries, churches, and living rooms to share their dreams for a space that didn’t exist yet. Those dreams — from workbenches and welding stations to fiber circles and community events — are now real. And after three years of public use, Makers Mill is ready to pause, reflect, and plan what comes next.

“This is just how we roll,” says Josh Arnold, Founding Executive Director of Makers Mill. “At every crossroads over the last two decades, we’ve sought the community’s input on our next move; this is no different. We believe the future of Makers Mill should be shaped by the people who use it, support it, and believe in the power of creativity and community.”
