Mothers Day Card Making Workshop

As Makers Mill continues its building renovation fundraising and plans for an official opening later this year at 23 Bay St, Wolfeboro, a few online courses are being offered over the next few months to give people a small glimpse of what’s to come.

One of the online classes being offered this spring is Mothers Day Card Making on Saturday, May 1st between 3pm-4pm, led by artisan and entrepreneur Margaret Donnelly.

Participants will receive a card making kit in advance to use during the class to create their very own Mothers Day card. The card features a sweet bear hugging a heart as the main image. No drawing skills are necessary. Margaret will share different design techniques including layering and orientation, and coloring options including water colors, markers, and colored pencils.  Participants will be able to individualize their card based upon these options, or easily replicate one of Margaret’s designs.

Margaret is an artist and instructor with over 20 years experience. Her love of card making began when she started creating cards for her large family, and she quickly began sharing her knowledge through classes, as well as through creating sample art for art supply manufacturers. Today, Margaret is a jewelry maker who sells online and is also represented in local galleries such as Artistic Roots in Plymouth, and The Edge Tie Dye and Osteria Poggio in Center Harbor. You can view Margaret’s creations at DonnellyArts.com or at her Etsy shop at donnellyarts.etsy.com.

The card making class is open to all ages, though participants must be able to handle scissors and the Zoom platform responsibly. The cost is $5 per person and registration is limited to 10 people on a first come first serve basis.  Card making packets can be picked up at Makers Mill, 23 Bay St. in Wolfeboro during the last week of April, or mailed directly to your home for an additional fee.  Register and pay online on our events page or speak with Josh Arnold at the Makers Mill office to register over the phone by calling 603-569-1500.  Once registered, you will be emailed a Zoom link for the class and can make arrangements on how to receive your card making packet.
