Making time for creativity isn’t always easy — especially when life is busy, expectations are high, or inspiration feels just out of reach. This winter, Makers Mill is offering a new two-part workshop designed to help makers reconnect with their creative practice in a way that feels sustainable, joyful, and grounded.
Creative Strength Training for Makers – 2 Part Series, led by artist and life coach Martina Cyr, will take place on Sunday, January 25 and Sunday, February 1, 2026, from 10:00 AM–12:00 PM. The workshop is open to all kinds of makers — painters, writers, crafters, tinkerers, and anyone looking to make creativity a more regular part of daily life.
Rather than focusing on outcomes or finished projects, this workshop centers on the process of making. Participants will explore simple, positive habits that support creative consistency without pressure or burnout. Over two sessions, students will create a dedicated sketchbook, practice using prompts, set realistic creative goals, and build routines that fit their own schedules and energy levels. The class also introduces the idea of a “to-don’t list” — a tool for clearing space by letting go of distractions that get in the way of meaningful creative time.
“I love helping people stay curious, explore, and make more often,” says Cyr. “It’s about enjoying the process, not just the finished piece.”
The two-part format allows participants to put ideas into practice between sessions, then return with questions, reflections, and insights. Students will also have the option to receive additional encouragement and support from the instructor by email or text during the week.
The workshop will be held in Makers Mill’s second-floor Fine Arts space, which is accessible by stairs or elevator. Class size is limited to eight participants to allow for conversation and individualized attention. The workshop is open to adults ages 18 and up.
Tuition is $90 for non-members and $80 for Makers Mill members, with a $20 materials fee paid directly to the instructor.
