Makers Mill Introduces New Sewing and Jewelry Workshops

Wolfeboro, NH – Makers Mill, a hub of creativity in Wolfeboro, is excited to announce the launch of two new workshops dedicated to sewing and jewelry making. These workshops are designed to spark creativity and elevate technical skills among participants.

Craft Your Adventure: Sewing 102 Workshop 

May 16 and May 23 from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM, the sewing workshop, “Sewing 102: Small Zippered Duffle Bag”, is suitable for individuals with basic sewing skills or those who have completed Sewing 101. This course will cover fabric cutting, zipper installation, and pocket creation. Cindy Durkee and Jeanne Flanagan, both with extensive experience in fashion design and fiber arts, will provide expert guidance. They embody the spirit of Makers Mill, where, as Durkee states, “Makers Mill nourishes that hands-on, inquiring mind and I am so happy to be teaching and learning at the makerspace where we can inspire people to create for themselves.” Register before May 15th for this 2-part series. $70 for non-members, $60 for members, with an additional $10 material fee.

Ignite Creativity: Torch-Fired Earrings Workshop

This jewelry-making workshop on May 18, 2024, from 10AM -1PM, introduces beginners to shaping, hammering, and soldering to create unique earrings, under the instruction of metalsmith Deb Ryan. Attendees can choose to craft from a variety of Deb’s designs, or create a design of their own. The workshop is priced at $60 for non-members and $50 for members, with an additional material fee of $12.

Participants are also encouraged to check out the “Stacking Ring” class on June 1st, which caters to beginners and those with some experience looking to incorporate a gemstone into their creations.
