Looking for something fun, creative, and educational to offer your child each week?  Makers Mill is offering an art fundamentals class for homeschooled youth aged 6-13 every Wednesday from 12pm-1:30pm in 4-week sessions, starting September 9th. Each class will build on the skills learned in the previous session, and will cover the fundamentals of drawing, painting, and mixed media, from drawing in perspective, color theory, blending and shading, exploring various techniques, and more.

Students may bring a drink in a sealed container.

Please read our Class Attendee Policy, which includes our cancellation policy, prior to registering.

Location: Fine Arts Class Space, upstairs accessible by stairs or elevator

Class Size: 2-6

Age Group: Youth aged 6-13

Registration Fee:  $150
Please Note: Spots are limited, so don't miss your chance to enroll your child! Registration will close 2 days prior to the first date of the session.
Each youth will require their responsible adult to sign our Youth Waiver at the beginning of their first class unless we already have their waiver on file. This is a one-time requirement.

Instructor: Jennifer MacLean is the leader of the Leather Circle at Makers Mill and a member of the Fine Arts Circle. She teaches Adaptive Arts, Paint Your Pet, and a variety of youth art classes, bringing creativity, care, and inclusivity into every learning environment. She was previously a hanging artist at the Lakes Region Art Association Gallery.

An equestrian for over 50 years, Jennifer developed a deep appreciation for leather through hands-on experience with tack and equipment, sparking a lifelong passion for quality materials and craftsmanship. More than 25 years ago, she launched her own business in the Newburyport, MA area, specializing in custom dog collars and leashes.

A Tuftonboro native and Kingswood High School graduate, Jennifer is proud to bring her skills and experience back to her home state of New Hampshire. In a previous chapter of her career, she worked as an Occupational Therapist and Speech-Language Pathologist — a background that continues to inform her thoughtful, adaptive, and student-centered teaching style
