Express and Play with Color: Introduction to Alcohol Inks
Curious about the vibrant, flowing world of alcohol inks? Come explore this playful and expressive medium that’s full of joy and surprise! In this hands-on class, you’ll learn tips and techniques for working with alcohol inks on both paper and ceramic tile, and go home with a complete set of materials to keep creating.
Alcohol ink is wonderfully forgiving—you can move and rework it again and again, creating beautiful, translucent effects similar to watercolor, but with less fuss and more freedom. The reason everyone loves this is that the ink stays on top of the surface so you can rework it, and activate it, and change it again and again. It is loose, meditative, interactive and playful.
The instructor will start with giving you demos and teaching you the various properties, and you will then try all the different approaches to creating with this lovely, ethereal expressive medium.
As Martina does with all of the classes she teaches, she will send you home with a set of inks, paper and tile so you can continue creating well after the workshop, and this is all included in your materials fee.
You’ll leave with finished pieces, new skills, and extra materials to keep experimenting at home. Perfect for beginners or anyone looking to loosen up and explore their creative side!
