Instructor: Debra Halstead
Creating and crafting were passed down to Deb from her mother and grandmother. Her mom taught her to sew, and her grandmother introduced her to the arts of crochet and knitting before she became a teen.
As a young adult, a basket-making class revealed Deb’s true passion. This sparked 30 years of refining and teaching this primitive skill, and now her baskets have become sought after in local shops.
She also prides herself on living sustainably: embracing homesteading by raising chickens and tending her many gardens of herbs, vegetables, and flowers. She happily shares her skills, by teaching herbal remedies, balms, tinctures, and soaps. Deb is a superb teacher, as demonstrated by her many students returning to learn more.
