Stained Glass: Abstract Suncatcher with Charm

9/26/2026 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM ET

Come learn how to cut, grind and solder glass to make a beautiful, unique Suncatcher, in this beginner class! In this class you will learn how to cut both straight and curved pieces of glass, grind it to fit your pattern and apply copper foil. Then you will learn to solder it together, clean it correctly to apply patina if you wish and polish your piece. If you choose, a charm can be added during soldering.

Please read our Class Attendee Policy, which includes our cancellation policy, prior to registering.

Instructor:  Maggie Cahow

Maggie had been a stained glass enthusiast for approximately 35 years and has extensive knowledge of the steps involved to create a beautiful and functional piece whether that’s a simple suncatcher or a more complex 3D piece with embellishments such as a candle holder or garden art. Maggie is also a wiz at soldering - often one of the steps that students find challenging.

When Makers Mill started offering stained glass classes a few years ago, Maggie volunteered to help teach and has since become our lead teacher in the shop as well as a Member.
