Arts & Mixed Media: Joyful Creating Techniques

6/14/2024 starting 06/14/24 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM ET

This class is offered on the second and fourth Friday each month.

Most of us feel joy and accomplishment when we are doing something we know how to do. But how do we get started? Creating art in any medium is a little scary if we don't know where to begin or what to use.  Which brush should I use? What type of paint? Paper or canvas.....? The list of unknowns goes on. When we are intimidated by the unknown, we shy away and think: "I can't do that. I have no talent."  It doesn't have to be that way!

The key is in trusting the process, understanding a few basic rules, proper instruction, and practice, practice, practice...it's not in any "God-given" talent. Most of us feel joy and accomplishment when we are doing something we know how to do.

In each class we will explore mediums, acrylic paints, stenciling, decoupage and transfers, mark making, and permanent ink art stamping.

Come along for the joyful journey! Bring a friend, your mother, neighbor, co-worker, or partner! We will learn a lot about ourselves, learn new skills with no pressure, and leave with our own work of art.  Joyful creating is a relaxing and meditative practice that you will enjoy for a lifetime.
