Walk in and Weave - Feb 2023

This event takes place on the following dates
2/11/2023 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM

This is a 2-part class on Saturday 2/11 and Sunday 2/12 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm each day.
You’ll learn to weave on a floor or tabletop loom that has already been dressed (ready for weaving) for each student.  This introduction allows the student to focus on what it feels like and what is created when you take a shuttle in hand and weave.  It is a great class to try out weaving or for determining whether you want to further explore hand weaving. After the second session, you will take home a finished hand-woven piece. Choice of loom is determined by order of registration date.
This is a beginner class with no prerequisites.

Location:  Makers Mill Fiber Arts Studio, second floor accessible via stairs or elevator

Registration Fee:  Non-members $35 and members $31
Non-members will be sent a Liability Waiver to sign before the class.
Materials Fee:  $20 payable to the instructor at the beginning of class either by cash or check made payable to Makes Mill.

Instructor:  Bobbie Stave
Bobbie has a degree in Art Education and a Masters in Arts Administration. She was a student of Signe Anderson, a prominent weaving teacher in Illinois. Her work with Signe centered mostly in sculptural weaving. Currently, Bobbie is exploring 2-D needle-felted wool landscapes. Her work can be seen in The Mainely Gallery, located in Belfast, ME.

Assistant:  Heidi Clow
Heidi is a retired elementary school teacher and has been a long-standing member of the NH Weavers Guild.  She’s been weaving for over 50 years, facilitated weaving groups, and loves to use the floor loom to make scarves, table runners, and woven holiday items.
