Classes & Events

Shop Member Orientations are held twice each month, and are immediately followed by an optional Facility Tour.  They are both free and open to the public.   You have the option to attend the Orientation in person or via Zoom.  A Zoom link will be sent to you after registering.

The Shop Member Orientations are from 8:00am to 9:30am, and review Makers Mill's policies and procedures as described in the Shop Member Handbook.  

Attending both a Shop Member Orientation and a Facility Tour is required before you can access Makers Mill 24/7 and independently use the tools and equipment, and after taking the relevant Tool Safety Assessments.

The Shop Member Orientation is immediately followed by a Facility Tour between 10:00 - 11:30 AM.  The Facility Tour can also be taken separately, ie on a different day: they are held each Friday between 10:00 - 11:30am as well as the first Saturday of each month at the same time.  

Upon completion of the Shop Member Orientation and Facility Tour, as well as the relevant paperwork including a Liability Waiver and Member Agreement, Shop Members are given their unique key fob to access the building 24/7. Please note that 24/7 access to the building does not automatically mean access to all the tools and equipment.  Many of those require additional safety training which is explained in detail during the Orientation.
