Shop Member Orientations and Facility Tours are held twice each month, and are free and open to the public.   

Attending both a Shop Member Orientation and a Facility Tour are required before a Shop Member is granted access to utilize Makers Mill work spaces and tools independently. Additionally, some tools require a Tool Safety Class for which there is a fee.

The Shop Member Orientations are from 8:00am to 9:45am, and will review Makers Mill policies and procedures as described in the Shop Member Handbook.  

The Shop Member Orientation is immediately followed by a Facility Tour between 10:00 - 11:30 AM.  The Facility Tour can also be taken separately from the orientation, ie on a different day: they are held each Friday between 10:00 - 11:30am as well as the first Saturday of each month at the same time.  Both the orientation and the tour are requirements of Shop Member Membership.

Upon completion of the Shop Member Orientation and Facility Tour, and relevant paperwork including a Liability Waiver and Member Agreement, Shop Members are given their unique key fob to access the building 24/7. Please note that 24/7 access to the building does not mean access to the tools that require safety training: fee-based Tool Safety Classes must additionally be successfully completed.
