Join in on a little spring cleaning by participating in Wolfeboro Town Clean-Up Day on Saturday, May 8th. Participants can pick up blue trash bags, gloves and a limited number of reflective vests from Makers Mill at 23 Bay St., Wolfeboro, between 8:00 am and 11:00 am. Participants are also asked to identify which street/area they intend to clean up so that we can coordinate with the Wolfeboro Solid Waste about picking up the blue bags afterward. Refreshments will be served. Bags are also available from the Wolfeboro Solid Waste Facility on Beach Pond Rd.
Gather friends, family, neighbors, or participate as a group with one of the local service organizations, and clean up your street! Filled bags can be left set back safely by the roadside for staff at the Solid Waste Facility to collect on Monday for sorting, recycling and disposal.
Participants are advised to wear appropriate protective clothing and closed-toe shoes, bright colors or safety vests, masks, and gloves, and bring a water bottle. Keep your distance from others, carry hand sanitizer, and tick repellent is recommended. Anyone driving the roads is asked to be extra careful and aware of volunteers working to clean up our roadsides on this date.
Makers Mill Executive Director, Josh Arnold, said, “This the original curbside pickup before curbside pickup became a thing. I’ll see you on the streets!”
